Looking for an excuse to get outside? Maybe you’re in need of a new hiking buddy. Either way, Saturday is the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day. 
Weather-pending, there are several events throughout the state including trips in Salisbury and Southbury.
A bit farther away, the New England Orienteering Club is providing a class on, well, orienteering, or for those looking to learn how to use a map and compass.
